What part # is the plastic lever to pull the hood open?
I'm looking around hondaautomotiveparts, the previous owner found the stupidest way to lose it. I'm not sure where it went or what he did with it, but yeah I need a replacement one. If anybody happens to know the part that I'm talking about, (the one with the picture of the hood opening) please contact me :]
Thanks a bunch guys, I appreciate the help around here.
Oh and my car is a 97 Hatch. :]

It probably broke because people try to pull UP instead of straight out. Look under Hood. You can not buy the handle separate from the cable.
if you had a 5th gen i would have one for you, but since your newer than that.

If you still have the lever, I know how to fix it and it will NEVER break.
I wish honda would have put $2 dollars worth of more engineering into this cause it brakes so fuking easy.

Hmm, the lever didn't break. It's just the clip. I have to use plyers just to pop the hood.
Would I still need a whole new rail? Or is this repairable?
Thanks a bunch guys, sorry for the late response I was at school.

The face of mine was broken off when I bought the car. I ended up making a "Face" out of Aluminum that slipped over the remaining part of the plastic round that was left that fastened with set screws. Looks nice and an easy fix.

if i buy a whole new rail does it also come with the pulling thing? (not sure what the exact name is) it's like the actual ornament with the hood sticker on it.
i WOULD make my own but then that's really tacky you know.

Check out the latch assembly. The spring up there is what snaps the latch back into the "closed" position whenever the lever isn't pulled. It might need to be greased or something, or the spring that closes it might be worn. Once that's set the cable'll pull back automatically when you let go. Though I'd replace the lever (hood latch cable assembly - up above) before replacing the spring. That's just me though.
I don't get why so many pple break these? I mean yeah I see it's a piece of ****...but nothing on civics are exactly built solid as a rock...

Mine broke so I put a trunk actuator and button. I also hooked it up to the aux on my alarm and I can pop the hood from my remote.
