I'm posting this for a friend; LS/VTEC using the GE oil adapter. He's having a problem right now with oil leaking between the oil filter and adapter. he's using 10W oil and has tried switching filters(he's tried Purone, Fram, STP and Bosch). Everything is installed correctly. We're going to call up GE, but just wanted to know if anyone else have this problem or know the solution. Thanks

 

i just had this problem. i tried pulling it off and replacing the rubber gasket in back with one from a fram oil filter, but it still leaked. finally figured out the the 1/4" oil plug on top had backed out a bit and was causing the leak. ....

 

Can you clarify what the oil plug is?

 

IM bumping this from the dead:

currently having problems with my sandwhich adapter plate.

It is on tight, but keeps on backing out. On occasion, it would leak out 2 quarts of oil with the motor running.

Why is that? I tightened them as per instructions, but keeps on getting loose.

Any suggestions?
