Default Type R head GSR block

Already did some searchin on this subject so dont kill me for this question. I have a 98 gsr motor that has 60k on it . My friend is giving me a deal on a 97 type r head. I know it will be a direct bolt on to the block, i also know that it drops compression. i just wanted to kow if there are anymore pros or cons to this setup. i also wanted to know what is the highest stage cams you can put on a R head with stock R valvetrain.
