timing balancer quick question help
i am now currently working on my timing belt. am replacing the timing belt , balancer shaft belt, 2 tensioners, water pump, and water pump bolts. I have put on the water pump and the timing belt with the tensioner all in correct timing and all in place but when i come to look at it with the balancer belt is kinda confusing. I have done timing belts before on a civic and corolla so i am kinda familiar with doing it but never did a balancer belt. i have a haynes manual that i purchased at a auto parts store for an extra guide but when i look at it doest really explaine it to me exactly. i see all the timing marks on the front balance shaft but it also says to do it on the rear. i dont see those for the rear balance shaft gear and doesnt show it in the manual. does anyone know this? is there a thread for this. i searched and couldnt find any. if possible and able to please post some pics. thanks
Remove the 12mm bolt to access the maintenance hole on the back of the block close to the rear balancer pulley where you would insert a 6x100mm bolt or something equivalent as an alignment tool.
Scribe a line 74mm (2.9in) from the end of the bolt. Insert the bolt into the maintenance hole to the scribe line .
Loosen the adjusting nut to verifythat the timing balancer belt moves freely.
Insert the balancer belt and remove alignment tool.
