Default Clutch and flywheel?

Ok, my baby is going to be undergoing some changes this winter. I've got a 1990 Accord EX 5spd. She's going to be getting an H23 head, new clutch, lightened flywheel, and rear disk conversion brake conversion. The thing that I'm torn on right now is what clutch and flywheel to use? I'm ignorant on the subject of flywheels although I'm still searching but I think I've got it narrowed down to a couple clutches. It's between an ACT or Centerforce but I want some opinions from fellow Honda owners who have used them. I have a South Bend Rally stage 2 right now and it's a POS, biggest waste of money I've EVER spent on my car or otherwise for that matter. I want something that's fairly "grabby" or "short" whichever way you want to put it, but I also don't want it to be stiff as a rock to depress the clutch pedal. I might be turbo-ing in the future so I want something that's going to hold. Any and all recommendations are welcome and encouraged. Opinions and recommendations on clutches and lightened flywheels please!! Thanks in advance all.

Act always gets my vote

how much hp are you shooting for?

btw, do more research on turbo/fi with lighten flywheel

if you staying NA gets fadenza lightweight flywheel, you'll like it on you accord.

With boost, if I boost, I don't plan on any more than 350hp. With a little bit of an engine build up I plan to be making around 200 with the new head. Anyone have any other recommendations? Thanks to iam7head for the reply and any others who would be so kind.

I have loved act's. I've never had one on a honda but on other cars, they have been great.

ACT will probably be the best bet in my opnion...but you might want to rethink the whole lightened flywheel idea, especially if you plan on FI in the future...In my experience, all the aftermarket flywheels are actually TOO light...If I were you, I'd buy a used OEM flywheel and send it to a reputable machine shop to get lightened and balanced...not only will this be cheaper, but you can get it to the exact weight that you want instead of the (basically) two weights the aftermarket offers...good luck and keep researching

Thanks for the replies, they are appreciated. I suppose that ACT gets the vote then and instead of asking why not a lightened flywheel with FI I'll just search Boost probably won't be in the too near future but I guess you never know.

ACT: 3

Centerforce: 0

Centerforce clutches get alot of good reviews on dsm forums, which i frequent more than honda forums. They are usually lighter feeling for the pressure they hold. But on a FWD car, it shouldn't be anything positive since anything you are looking at should feel close to stock.

But, what has kept me away from them is accouple of bad reviews, early failures. And it's probably an install problem, it just seems to come up more than act. Act is tried and true. I won't say that they are the best clutches but damn good and you can't go wrong really.

Old post, but an h23 head will not give you 200 hp.

The whole h23 only makes like 160 hp, and that is with the H23 block which has higher compression pistons and a larger bore.

I'm NA, about 130 whp.
I like my ACT HD pressure plate and street disk.
Got an ACT Streetlite flywheel 11.9 lbs. revs good, no complaints.
