I have a 2000 gsr completely stock except intake and i was thinking about putting an exhaust on. But i heard if i do that i won't be able to pass smog? Anything i can do about this if thats true?

 

I passed smog with a Greddy Evolution (the original back in the day).

I had a bad carsound cat and that with a combination of a header I no longer use (JDM DC Sports), and the Greddy Evolution, resulted in me failing.

I passed after replacing with the stock header and stock cat. My Greddy Evolution was already rusting out. I think you'd be fine.

 

As long as you keep a cat and get an exhaust system that makes under 95dB, you'll be fine.

 

i dont really know, since i dont own a car yet. but i would put a silencer on just incase, so the dudes wont be dicks and flame you for noise pollution or something, but my brother passed with flying colors with his mufflar, you just neeeed your CAT though, im not sure if a high flow cat would pass either, but who am i to tell you. im just telling you, that my brother had his silencer on when he went to inspection
