Default For those of you running Buddy Club Cam Gears, Take a look

These were installed on my friend's 97 gsr roughly 2 years ago along with bc3+ cams, portflow valve springs, skunk2 im, etc. My friend called me from his school's parking garage the minute he heard an unusual noise coming from the engine bay. Needless to say, the car was immediately towed to my garage.

If anyone has a number to Buddy Club's customer service, please let me know. I would of never expected this to happen with a product from Buddy Club.

From what I could see the exhaust cam had about 5 degrees more play then it should of after it broke. Fortunately, he lucked out, I installed oem cam gears on it for the time being, and the car runs, but not hardly as strong as it did before. I still have a strong feeling that he may have bent some of the exhaust valves. Haven't had much time to look into the valves, he and I are both busy with school right now.

2 years isn't bad that have lasted. You ever seen aftermarket cams over 30k street miles??? lol

If Buddy Club comes in and helps you out, I'm speechless to say that's what be far excellent customer service!!!

Funny, I bought a ricer mod about a month ago. A CF hood from Seibon for my EG, after 1 week on the car, the hood's clear started to crack. Call up Seibon and basically told me its a race part, what do you expect??? Very....i guess!

Unlike most of the aftermarket parts (90%) in this industry, it came from the same plant as w/ VIS and others. lol,,,,,,,wtf?

Actually the rev limiter hasn't been changed, still set at 8k.

All of the bolts were still tight. I'd pull it apart if I had the time and if he had the money and another car to drive.

BuddyClub does have good customer service fortunately. When my friend was planning to mod the motor 2 years ago, I did my best to recommend quality parts that would last the life of his motor, knowing that he would be putting some miles on the car, with no intent to further mod the engine. The way I see it, if you pay a premium for good parts, that extra money "should" give you the piece of mind that the part will last like an oem part would.

My buddy has been running those gears for about 4 months with no problems.

My gsr has 131,xxx on it. I bought the car with 108,303 on it with the skunk2 pro series cam gears already on it. I have driven the car for over a year, beating the hell out of it on a daily basis. reving to 9k. No problems to mention here. However if and when anything happens to my current gears, I will go to buddy club because you can see here in this thread they stand behind their products, where as Skunk2 has the worst customer service I have ever dealt with.
