Default GSR B18C1 Bottom Block Rebuild

hey i just got a 98 2dr gsr... but my goal is an all-motor daily driven... i am about to rebuild my bottom block cause i got some bad rings... but i wanna make my b18c1 a 2.0... i was thinking JDM ITR Pistons .25mm over... will .25mm over make my block a 2.0L??? What do you guys reccomend ITR or CTR pistons??? or other pistons??? What are the differences in compression??? my goal is at least 225hp to the wheels...I want to be able to use 91 octane without a problem and have a reliable engine...

you'd need to resleeve and bore it out to 84mm to make it 2L. with that said, ctr's are going to make the compression too high for your goal of using 91 and being reliable. either use the jdm itr's or p30's.

no. stock bore is 81mm. .25mm oversized would make it 81.25mm which is still 1.8L. like i said in my first post, you would need to resleeve and bore it out to 84mm for 2L. or just get a b20 block.

too be honest i dont think i can afford to go with a b20 block or sleeves on my b18c1... so with jdm itr pistons .25 over am i capable of getting 225whp on 91 octane...

Not being able to afford and all motor cannot be used in the same sentence.

B20 block won't cost that much but to sleeve it yeah. And if you planned on making your GSR block a 2.0l, you'd have to sleeve it. You won't be able to bore it out to 84mm without sleeving it IIRC

Pistons alone aren't going to make your engine into a monster lol

you can pick up a b20 block for fairly cheap from a number of places. many people have had success with making 200+whp on the stock sleeves. as for that 225whp comment, that would depend on the entire engine setup as a whole.
