Anyone that has put aftermarket pistons in an H22.....Please help
There's been pages and pages of posts on this topic. It really blows that the search doesn't work anymore.
PreludeOnline search works, try a search there for sleeves.

you have to sleeve the block if you plan on using any forged piston in the h22a or h23 block. If not the walls will wear down excessively. I have seen this with my own eyes. I personally have a sleeved block with aftermarket pistons in a h22a.
How come the s2000 uses the same kind of sleeves and it also uses forged pistons???Anyone care to elaborate???
Check out the link above it should answer all your questions. As far as the s2000 forged pistons Im not sure if the pistons are coated the same as the Nsx pistons. I do know however that the Honda forged pistons run tight clearances like the regular cast Honda piston. The typical forged piston from JE or Arias run looser clearance because of the expansion rate of the aluminum. The loser clearances could be one factor to damages of forged pistons in Frm walls.
