Pirelli Rant
Just frustrated here and feel the need to rant. I appreciate whoever sending that link to Ron Ayers Supersport's special deal on the Pirelli Diablo Corsa IIIs, but I called again today to learn that my order (because of Pirelli being behind) is now pushed back to Oct. 20th. This is after I placed an order for a set on August 25th and then called on Sept. 18th to learn they were behind and would ship on the 22nd of Sept.
F&*%ing ridiculous.
Cliff notes:
Ordered Pirellis on Aug. 25. Told they'd ship that week. Later told they'd ship on Sept. 22nd. Called again this morning...now Oct. 20th.
I'm getting a refund from Ron Ayers and just ordered a set of Pilot Powers from ebay/ ATV Direct in Kentucky. Ayers' Pirelli deal was a set of 180/55 and 120/70 for $143 shipped, ATV Direct's is $246 for the set, shipping included. Cost me an additional $100, but AT LEAST I KNOW I'LL ACTUALLY RECEIVE THEM.
F&$% Pirelli.

This is not the same deal as the "buy one rear get the front free" is it? Sorry to hear about the delay, but these things do happen.
If I may quote someone...
Because life's too short. Nothing lasts forever, so live it up. Drink it down. Laugh it off. Avoid the bullshit. Take chances, and never have regrets. Because at one point, what you did was what you wanted.

You got me there. Thanks to the rant, feeling better already
It was the same deal...would have been damn good, too, if not for Pirelli. No blame really to Ron Ayers...they handled it well with me...wish they had called to notify me of delays, though. At any rate, it's all good now.
"If the deal sounds too good to be true..."

Just to let you know all of Italy is on vacation during the month of August therefore all Italian brands are at a standstill...I had the same problem when we placed orders at Sidi boots for customers at my work. You were probably one of many backorders. Next time if you order something from an Italian brand try to place the order by June or you'll have problems with being back ordered.
well i ordered from ron ayers for that deal and get my rear then the front later on... you didn't need your rear to send in for the front too btw... I did it early on in the deal though. Later on Ron Ayers probably ran out of tires since lots of people who ordered online to get a rear got from them...

Shoulda kept your order and either resold the tires of kept them until you wear out the Powers.
I got 2 sets of qualifers at once because they were going for 200 a set, not the best deal but good enough for me

It's the Italian work ethic. It can wait. Rome wasn't built in a day because the Romans loved their siestas and stopped working when the sun went just past vertical.
Winning the world cup hasn't helped Italian production either. We've been waiting for Italian crystal since July.

uh what? that makes no sense. pirelli makes enough tires but if Ron Ayers ran out quickly which probably happened since so many were ordered, it still is gonna take awhile for a large shipment of new tires to come in... I really don't see how you can blame them. Plus like I pointed out before. You did not need the rear tire in hand to get the front. if you paid for it. you just had to send the receipt in with the form as long as there were spots left for the free tire. I posted that link awfully late though so if you didn't rush on it, there weren't gonna be any spots left

This is hardly anybody's fault. Demand at Ron Ayers was higher than they expected - I commend them for not raising the price of the effected rear tires to cope with that demand.
Even if I still didn't have my tire I wouldn't mind - I don't need it ASAP. I probably won't put mine on until spring.

It doesnt take that long to get a new shipment of tires if the supplier has them in stock. Its called a back-order. Ron Ayers ran out, ordered more but couldnt get them. How does it not make sense? Pirelli doesnt have enough tires. Happens all the time.
For awhile last year, Metzeler (and Michelin, if memory serves right) had distribution problems - not enough tires to fill all the orders. Pirelli is not the only one that has had problems (but then again, Metzeler and Pirelli are virtually the same company).

they are awesome tires i have them mounted on my 636 right now</TD></TR></TABLE>
it's actually $168 basically cause pirelli charged $25 to ship the front. The deal with pirelli was buy the rear tire, then send the reciept along with a form you filled out to pirelli and then as long as there were front tires left (you were given an approximate tire number but if you waited you'd lose out), then they'd send you a front. You pay shipping on it though... There were only 1000 front tires given away. You could get the rear from anywhere too so some people got them from local dealers for even cheaper. Like $125 cause they didn't have to pay shipping.
