My New Camera (D50)
This thread is a follow up to this thread: https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=1749939
First of all I just want to give Keith (J337 UNIT) a BIG thanks for such a smooth and flawless transaction. If ANYONE is seeking feedback from this guy for any transaction; He's the man! Ok enough with the rambling, here is my 10 min old Nikon D50 with Nikkor 50mm and 28-200mm lenses!

(Yes I know the lighting is horribly off, but I snapped these pics quickly and could careless at this moment!
/ Shots taken with Sony Cyber-Shot 4.1)
Yes this is just of the camera due to being at the workplace, but I just wanted to give mad rep to J337 UNIT for comming through with exactly what he said. Everything and I mean EVERYTHING was mint; From the Camera to the lenses, even to the boxes, not one knick, scratch, or crease....F-ING awesome. And the price was well, lets just say Keith hooked it up! Thanks Bro!
Also guys, I bought this camera for work purposes and already have a few jobs lined up through the Interior Design Buisness Im at right now. However Ill be posting many pics from events (Including Rolex 24hr w/pit passes) and random shiz, so stay tuned and sorry for the teaser of just the camera. I have to get back to work before I get fired!

Glad you love the camera bro... I'd like to mention that AMG is an awesome buyer
..I know that there are alot of sketchy sellers all around the internet. So I know how hard it can be to trust someone on the other end especially when you dont even know them. So I made the best effort I could in making sure the transaction went well. I'll still say however that people should be really cautious about who they buy from on the internet.

Im a noob; Care to explain?

I think he meant it's just that it's not one of the greatest telephoto zoom glass out there. Actually, IMO since you're just starting out with DSLRs that 55-200 is a good "all-purpose" lenses. It's light, relatively compact, and has a good focal length range.
Max. wide aperture is a little small for indoors & no flash though, the filter and lens elements simply aren't as good as something like...say...

But like I said, it's a good lens to start out with; Sharpen your photographic skills and technical knowledge and then look to upgrade to something that will better serve your purposes.

just so you know.. that is not a 55-200mm.. that is a 28-200mm.. and its one of the newer versions that are really hard to find these days.. perfect walk around lens.

There you go, that's actually a big improvement.
Even better. Wider aperture and a little closer to the wide-angle side.

Dont worry man, Im going to be taking my first shots with it tomorrow without photo editing any of it, so you wont feel so bad.
Oh BTW, There is a CD Photo thing that came with it....Im thinking a cheap version of Photoshop? Should I still purchase Photoshop or will this do the trick?

Ok I had about 30min to mess with the camera today since Im at work. After messing with the aperture, shutter, and White balance I have a few questions. The first is that I cant seem to access the white balance menu as well as a few others b/c they are "fainted out" and cannot be clicked on!? The second is there a B&W or Sepia Option on the camera or is this done in photoshop? Sorry for the noob questions, but well, Im just that...A noob.
Here's a few photos from like the 10 I took while messing with the settings, so there really shitty. Feel free to give me as much criticism as possible b/c I need it. Also how do I make the "Integra" standout from camera settings?

Ohh yeah....Im in love!
EDIT: Shots taken with 28-200mm

Nice teg... WB has to be selected by holding down the button that says wb, and turn the command dial and look up top at the lcd screen, youll see the wb options up there. Im not sure what you meant by fainted out. Oh, and there are no B/W or sepia modes on the D50.. youll have to do that in a computer program. great first shots! keep em comin..

if you want to make "integra" stand out really well.. use the 50mm lens, set it the aperture to 2.0 and focus in on that spot.. play around with different angles, but youll see what "depth of feild" is especially with the 50mm at a 1.8 setting. You can really get that blurry background and foreground and razor sharp focal point with that 50mm.
Thanks keith. Yea what i meant by "Fainted out" was in relation to the option to choose it on the LCD screen. You cant go to it b/c it isnt highlighted, so thats what i was confused about.
Also just installed the photo program....I guess I still need photoshop. *shrug*
