Default Strait pipe.. well not exactly.

I had my exhaust done a while back in 2.5" piping and got a 4 ft long resinator put on. The guy at the exhaust shop said I should just run my cat, the resinator and then dump it right after the resinator. He said it would be a cheap racing exhaust and would sound very mean. Keep in mind, im not really running strait pipes the resinator is almost 4 ft long and has 1" long spikes in a spiral going the full length of the resinator.

Well a friend of mine that knows alot about the h22 specificly, said I would more than likely loose power. I'm not sure who to beleive. I dont just have a stock H22 though, I pushing plenty of air though. Give me opinions.

H22A, stage I PNP (head & intake manifold), AEM tru-time cam gears, Stage 2 Crower cams, Skunk2 pro series valve train, balance shaft eliminator kit, EGR block off, I/H/E (DC sport header), Walbro 255 fuel pump, AEM fuel rail, AEM fuel pressure regulator, 440cc RC injectors, Hondata S300 using a Supercharged H22 calibration.

no. anyone who knows anything about h22s will say, less is more.

its already been proven running open header will yield more power.

it will be loud. i've driven my car like that for a short period of time (like 30 minutes and i couldn't stand it)

another question is why are you running the dc header with all that other stuff? that seems more like the bottleneck right now than anything (unless its modified)

also why are you running "supercharged ecu map", i don't see where it says you are running a jrsc so one has to wonder........

Good questions.

I know I need a better header. I dont have 11XX to spend so a friend of mine is perfecting a custom made one now. I would love to get something better and I know it would unleash ALOT of what I have.

The supercharged map is simply for the fuel maps. The work perfect with my motor. I'm sure I could get a little better (tuned) but I'm not going to get much better right now.

i doubt supercharger fuel maps are *perfect* for your motor...theyre probably pig rich...and i can garauntee that the ignition tables are wayyy off....

i wouldnt be worrying about maximizing power through custom exhausts(that one you described is a horrible idea), i would get the car tuned first....

and yes, you will make more power open header, so just pop the exhaust off at the track....

oh and *****-eared-pete ( ) .....i like the sound of open header, the rmf growls so nastily when its open...the stock one sounded like ****...but through my cutout (right at the header) it just sounds straight up mean.....but yea it gets annoying after a while....hence the electronic cutout setup....

yeah the reason i had to run open header was right after the swap. i had to use a 5th gen header (from a friend) so its shorter than the 4th gen.

so there was a big gap from the header to the cat. basically i drove right after the swap was done to exhaust shop to fill it all up.
