being in buisiness for over 8 years now... i see alot of "new" shops open and close...when they open there is usually alot of hype about them ... like omg they sell things at cost ..the do bitchin work .. they are my homies ect ect .. with the exception of a few they usually last between 6 months and a year. i am not and have never been a person to down talk another shop... however when i saw this i was flabergasted.. (weird word) anyways the story: a customer came to the shop and relayed that he would like to pay us to "go over his car and check out the swap".. we get alot of this in our area so of course we agreed. here is what we found when we put the car on the lift. BTW this is anef with a b16 swap that he payed wayyyy too much 4

soory about the cell phone pic.. but what you are looking at is shiftlinkage (custom from what his receipt says) that has benn modified(hacked) to work with the b series swap.. they literally cut the linkage.. drilled holes in it put a couple bolts in it and a couple of hose clamps!!!!!! WOW also found on the car ... knock sensor not wired , fuel lines with no clamps, a hacked ls distributor (on a vtec head) LOOSE axle nuts (both) loose lower ball joints(with no cotter pins) eand the list goes on
i do appologize if this was boring and or if it is the wrong forum (but this is where i spend most of my time and know the most people)
oh ya and im not scared this work was done by a place called "the LAB in sanbernardino CA its no wonder we stay so busy with quality work out there like this
TO ALL THE POTENTIAL MOTORSWAP GUYS OUT THERE..... ANOTHER SHOP MIGHT BE A COUPLE HUNDRED BUCKS CHEAPER.. BUT YOU WILL PAY FOR IT IN THE END ....DO YOUR HOMEWORK BEFORE LETTING ANYBODY TOUCH YOUR VEHICLE...
this post was not made to deface anyone or talk trash ... however if you are putting work out like this from your "business" you should know that this is not only disappointing but it is UNSAFE

wow thats appalling, thats why i would rather try to do something myself and gain knowledge instead of throwing my hard earned cash at shady shops.

Daym Chris, thats just plain sickening to see **** like that. I've seen some bad stuff the past 15 years, but thats pretty nasty.
Its like they tried to make it the worst swap possible. I mean, how bad can you get. Daaaym.
Like Chris said, good work is not the cheapest. We get that all the time with race car builds and engine builds. You guys have to look at what you are getting. When the price matches the quality parts you are getting, thats when its worth it. Don't look at it as, it costs $400 more here or $200 more from another place. Compare what you are getting and the type of work that you receive.
In the engine building world: I cannot stress enough how plastigauged measured built motors are totally different from fully blueprinted precision measured motors. You can only measure so well with certain tools. Thats an example of where the price difference is guys.
Good luck with fixing that Chris, I'm sure you guys will get this guy taken cared of with a SAFER running car.
