Best/Cheapest way to fix this problem? Someone side-swiped my front bumper!
The picture doesn't really show if it's dented or just scratched up; touch up paint is available at the dealer. If it's dented you can remove the bumper and use a heat gun to get it hot enough to remold back into shape. Get it hot and use a board to push it back to shape, while holding it with the board cool it off with compressed air.
Its not dented, its just scracthed up. Should I sand it smooth, primer it, and use touch up paint or something??
feather edge the damage and go to either a paint store of an automotive store and get that color. And try to blend it in with the rest of the bumper. (don't spray the whole bumper just the spot that needs to be painted). This should come out looking fairly decent if you do it right.
You can buff all that out b/k most of it is the other car/objects paint.
Use an old white sock athletic sock and rubbing alchohol. Escalate to gasoline if it's real difficult (use a mask & gloves).
Once you've got 80 % of it out, you can finsih off using cleaner wax and a finer cloth to make it look like 90%. The wax will clean off the finer details as well as smooth out the scratches that didn't penetrate the paint. Once you've gotten to that point, swing by the honda dealer and get geniue OEM honda touch-up paint. It's like $4 and the paint-code is in your driver's doorjam.
Good luck...ask more questions as they come up.

Yeah, try buffing it with a rag dipped in gasoline, see if any of it comes off though to me it looks like they went through your paint.
As stated above, pick up a bottle of touchup paint. It won't look as good as new, but it'll be good enough.

The black is my bumper, they took off all the paint, thats not the paint from another car, thats the plastic under the paint on the bumper.

best you can do
best you can do
okay, thanks. Do I need to get the base coat and the clear coat from the dealer? I called them and they said something about base and clear coats.
you need to do a little "body work" on that bumper.
sand the area with "320" (or 300, or 340, 360), and then apply a layer of "putty". Let it dry, sand it with 400, apply another layer of putty. Let it dry, sand it with 400 (or 600), apply a bit of primer only in the area repaired. Sand it again, now using 1200 or 1500 grit. If you have a buffing machine, go ahead and wet sand the area of the bumper, between 10 inches radius of the area damaged. If you don't have a buffing machine, take the car to a body shop, otherwise the bumper will look like crap if you paint and clear coat it not being able to fix the dirt and orange peel normally seen on "backyard" paint services.

oh... btw. The way your bumper looks, if you take to a body shop, you shouldn't need to have a "blending service" to your right fender.
So only front bumper cover should do it.
