Default Rebuild: Is this rod usable?

Is the following ITR rod salvageable? Possible to smooth the knicks out and it'll be ok to use? Thanks!

Not because I know the answer but I'm not sure why you would even chance it...

I'm well prepared to spend the $110 on a new OEM rod, but why if it isn't needed?

I'd say no only for the fact that I'd rather be safe than sorry.

Why run a damaged part, when an undamaged one is readily accessible?

Any kind of harsh edges like that will cause what is known as a stress concentration. In simple terms, think of a bag of fruit snacks. They put a little slice in the bag so that you can apply a stess and tear the bag open. It's really hard to tear the bag open without that little tear. Now, I'm not saying this rod is unusable. I cannot make that call. The point is, when that rod is stressed in certain scenerios, to its limits, it will tend to fail at those stress concentrations.

My vote, don't risk it.
