So your H22 intake manifold has the IAB system, but it's missing the solenoid valve? Dealer, or your favorite mailorder place, or your favorite junkyard??

Do you have the vacuum storage bottle & it's check valves to go with that?

What year Prelude did your engine come from? Check hondaautomotiveparts.com for parts drawings of that system.

yes... the mechanic said that i'm missing the little black box that's supposed to be mounted on w/ the engine... so it's missing and i'm guessing it's called the secondary butterflies? or Air Intake bypass solonoid? Its from a 93 Prelude.. jdm engine... auto engine w/ manual tranny... I was goin to call the dealer, but I heard it was gonna be expensive! and I'm not sure what it looks like so i cant go to a junkyard.. . thanks for the info!!!
Bump for more info!

I tried looking up parts pictures & didn't have much luck. Apparently Preludes are different than my Integra.

Mine had a vacuum bottle mounted under the manifold, with a check valve & a solenoid valve. Technically, the secondary butterflies are just one part of the 'intake air bypass' system.

Hopefully someone who has the Prelude version of that IAB system will come around & clarify this.

When I was looking to put a H23 IM on my F22B1, I bought a H23 IM and was then looking for that same black box. I couldn't find a picture of it either but I was finely able to find it under the "Install Pipe-Tubing" listing on HAP and SLHonda. Here's a diagram of what your looking for...

#12 Vacuum Tank 36361-PT2-014
#10 Bypass Control Solenoid Valve Assembly 36163-PT2-004

The Bypass Control Solenoid Valve Assembly is mounted onto the Vacuum Tank.

Those two parts are quite pricey to buy from the dealer.

I have one of those black boxes and solenoids that I'm selling with my H23 IM. I ended up finding it for sale in the classifieds on this site.

If you would like to see an actual picture of the tank and solenoid I can take a picture and post it later today when I get home from work.
