Fuc*ing Car
My car turns over, theres spark to the sprak plugs but it doesnt ignite and stay going. The mechanic is stumped. Im stumped, Ive just about given up hope. Somebody please help me out.
I have fuel and the fuel pump is working. However I opened my fuel filter and i didnt have my intake on and the throttle body sucked in the gas and it was running like that. But otherwise it doesnt run. The main relay also clicks.

a little more info would be helpful.. so you try and start it.. car turns over.. actually starts, then dies..
well if it worked when you started it with your fuel filter contraption.. not shur what u did.. then its a fuel problem.. injectors no good? maybe clips in wrong places?.. not enough fuel pressure? what kinda motor/setup u running?

Its turning over and consuming fuel but if I leave the key alone it will stop. Im running a swapped B16a. I was thinking that the plugs to the injector could be bad but I think it would be weird for all four of them to go.

it may not be that the plugs themselves are bad.. it oculd be that they are in the wrong order... maybe wires were crossed during the swap. if the wrong injector is spraying at the wrong time it could definately lead to your engine bogging out.. i would take a voltmeter and check resistivity between the leads on the plug side and on the corresponding lead on the ecu side.. if you dont know the proper leads do a H-T archived search.

Broken timing belt</TD></TR></TABLE>
If it's sparking the timing belt is <u>NOT</u> broken
.
On the other hand, may want to check the timing, make sure it's right. I'd also change that fuel filter, and see if you can get an injector to squirt when you turn the engine over (try and start it).
EDIT:
Like squirt out of the car....pull the injector and turn the engine over - it should throw some fuel out the injector..if it doesn't...well then at least you've narrowed it down to a fuel problem definately.

Get into more detail about this........
Its starting and runs while you hold the key in a certain position? When you let go of the key the car turns off. Is what Im saying correct, Im having trouble understanding you.

Sounds like ignition timing/firing order. Make cure you have the spark plug wires in their appropriate spots on the distributor cap/cylinder.
Firing order is 1,3,4,2
Looking from the top of the engine, #1 cylinder is closest to the timing belt:
4 3 2 1
Good luck.

I know this sounds dumb but I had that problem after running my tank empty. Filled it up and still. Check the hose between the pump and the pump assembly. Mine cracked and would not pick up enough fuel to run. But would put it into the lines Hope this helps some.
