well my motor should be showing up soon and im going to have a little bit of extra cash. so i was thinking about changing out the head gasket! do you think this is necessary? what kind should i get oem, aftermarket, what brand? my future goals about a year away are to run boost. in the mean time i might spray a 50 shot.

shopping list so far: is there anything that i should add?
new radiator hoses
rear main seal
valve cover gasket, spark plug grommets
new plugs
magnecore plug wires
new cap and rotor
hasport adjustable linkages
place racing mounts
oem exhaust manifold gasket
timing belt
water pump
oilpan gasket - i plan on taking the oilpan off and cleaning it and putting a new gasket on.

im not sure if the exhaust manifold will fit so i saved the one off my 00 si

get a spoon head gasket, it read that it raises the compression up a little, just A little.....

 

Check your engine (when you get it) for signs of any oil leaks around the gasket area. If there are none, don't bother. on the other hand, it's easy when the engine is out of the car.
