Tuning by Tuned1 ~ Rick Williams in OH??
Just wanted to get some feedback and opinions on Tuned1 if you've gotten your hondata tuned there?
I'm looking to get my car tuned and may go w/ him, but wanted some input before committing. IE, overall tuning cost, type of dyno used, tuning location, scheduling, things like that..
Thanks,

rick is a good guy and a great tuner... he used to work at raceline but now is doin his own thing... he would get the job done just fine... another choice is josh at raceline... he does the tuning there on their mustang dyno and that is where i personally had my car tuned...

I can't recommend Josh at Raceline. He left my friend with a big bill and a half-assed tune....not to mention they tuned on a motor that had an issue that needed to be solved before tuning.

rick's a good guy...only talked to him once back when he used to work at raceline, but he's very credible around the cincinnati area.
at raceline he tuned on a mustang dyno..idk what he uses at his new place

I've worked with Rick before when he used to work for Raceline. He drove while I tuned. He was easy to work with, patient, and stayed focus on getting my time taken care of instead of wandering around a lot like I've seen from some dyno operators.
PM me about your experience with Josh if you want, 92HB_HB. I'd like to know about your experience.

Even though you already know my feelings 92HB_HB, I'll post anyways haha.
- Can't really say....I'm a freak and have a continually ongoing tuning process (it's my own doing though, not his).
- Mustang the first time, DynoJet now.
- Raceline when he was at Raceline (never had a problem), Colletti Motorsports now.
- Great scheduling, "all good things are worth waiting for"

Looks like you need to be doing some commercial advertising Rick haha.

I already talked to you about this...... When my part throttle driving wasn't up to par i spoke with josh and we went out and fixed all problems i had in about 30 minutes of street tuning with no extra costs.... if youd like i will talk to josh tomorrow and let him know your unhappy with how your car drives and i am positive he will be more then happy to fix your issues... in the future speak with him about your problems before coming on here and bad mouthing him <TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote, originally posted by 92HB_HB »</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">

the car was never fully tuned, due to the fact that it needed a new clutch.
it was drivable, and that's it. the car was to be returned after a new clutch was installed. and have the final tune complete.
we've had many cars with S300's and KPro this year alone. all of which producing very nice numbers. bring it back down and let the tuning be complete, before you start to bash someone for incomplete work

I think I gave him ample time and opportunity to make things right.. Never did he offer to do some street tuning when I told him my part throttle was jacked up, like he did for you.. Instead, he promised to re-burn the map since it may have been currupted, and NEVER delivered on that.. Blew me off with lies and excuses and never returned my calls after a month of patiently waiting.. I was the one constantly calling back trying to get answers and following up.. Go ahead and talk to him and have him call me, he's got my #.. I've been waiting for a professional and pro-active response from him since 11/6..

I think you have my car mixed up with someone else's bro, because mine did not have any clutch issues whatsoever.. We all know that when we were there, so that's totally a false statement and misleading..
... Tuning be complete???? So are you implying he didn't tune my car COMPLETELY?? There was nothing majorly wrong with my setup that would have hindered it from being COMPLETELY tuned, i.e. "blown clutch", improper base timing, charge pipes blowing off, smoking engine, hacked up wiring, loose nuts/bolts, etc.. We did have some issues w/ boost spiking, and I accepted that, thus we only tuned off the WG spring.. I'm not griping about lack of power so that's not even the issue here..
I trailored it down so he could fine tune my full throttle maps.. My part throttle was pretty much all set already and gave me excellent gas mileage before the tuning session.. Dont get me wrong, when I left, the full throttle maps WERE tuned to my satisfaction, BUT at the expense of my part throttle mapping taking a sh|t. I didn't realize this until after a month of logging mileage..
My last tuner was able to take a completely sh|tty base map and tune the part and full throttle to perfection soley on a Mustang dyno all in one session.. So you can't expect me to bring it back to "COMPLETE" my tuning when that's what should have been done in the 1st place considering I had no major issues w/ my setup during the tuning..
I gave you guys enough time to help make things right and a offer a solution in good faith.. But instead, you decided to blow me off and give me the run-a-round for the past few weeks..
This is my personal opinion and experience with you guys, and if you consider it bashing, then so be it..
You have my #, so why dont you give me a call..

We never felt comfortable enough with the first tune to go back even though Josh offered. I think it was a justified decision based upon, what I think, was his poor decision making, inability to resolve a primary issue (yet perfectly resolvable within the time frame given), and skipping steps in the tuning process that we felt should have been done sequentially.
I stand by my initial statement, as conservative as it MAY be.
