the first one will work however you will need special cable transmission mounts/linkage. if you buy the motor from hmotors you can get the needed mounts/linkage for an extra $300 i believe. but i'd recommend the second one because it is 100% bolt on.

Ya but the first one is cheaper lol... So if I get the cable transmission mounts/linkage I can use that motor ? don't I have to change the ECU ? Sorry for these dumb questions and thanks for the quick reply

its a complete swap so it comes with the ECU needed. i know its cheaper but thats because its a cable transmission. i'd fork out the extra cash for a hydro trans. im not 100% sure of in what ways the hydro trans is better but if honda switched all of its engines to hydro trannys from cable, theres gotta be a reason.

Hi thank you for your response I guess I will just save up a bit more cash to get that motor hope its worth it. Also do you think I will get charged huge custom fees when its delivered ? I am in Canada... because I ordered lowering springs from another website and when it arrived I had to pay $87 on delivery (custom fees/taxes)

I had a cable transmission integra with a stock b18A and a YS1 and now I have a hydro tranny b16 SIR 2 with S4C. anyhow I don't see any difference between the feel of the clutch between the two. so it is all about the ease of the swap. if it was me I would get the SIR 2 since all you have to do is drop it in.

oh and I dunno about the smog laws in Canada but at least in california the XSI swap would be illegal since it is obd0. also the wiring on the obd1 will be easier to change over. because I am not sure but at least my engine came with a jdm harness that is totally useless in a usdm car due to right hand drive. so I believe it would be much easier to convert your SI OBD1 harness to the b16 than trying to use an obd0 distributor and alternator.

if you have a chance go to a local junkyard and ask them how much they want for a swap. however from all the junkyards ive been to, hmotorsonline has the best prices. not to mention a 100% start up warranty.

So should I call up a local junkyard and ask them how much they charge for a B16A SIR 2 complete swap ? Also if I get it from the junkyard its not 100% startup ? Sorry for these dumb questions again not to many people around here do engine mods like this (theres a lot of show cars lol) so I have no one to ask..
