93 prelude FLOOD problem
Ok my 93 prelude has a leak somewhere. Everytime it rains the bottom of the back seats are always wet. I narrowed it down to what i believe is the problem and its the weather strips that are next to the sunroof and the strip that goes around the rear window. Do you guys think that this is the problem also? Should i buy the strips and install them myself? or should i have the professionals do it.

haha, i've had this exact same problem twice. and it was the same culprit both times.
have you played with the rubber grommet/diaphragm on the top of the passenger footwell recently?? i forgot to properly seal this twice, and a **** load of water got in.

no i dont think that is the problem, because the only wet spots in the car are the bottoms of the back seats....i put my hand in the side of it and it has a lot of water under them. Does anyone have a diagram where all the screws are to remove the back seats?
Check to make sure both sunroof drains are in place. Also take a hose and a friend and get in the car and have them spray the car to find out where its coming in.
Edit: to remove back seats there are little clips for the bottems you pull towards the front of the car and then the seats lift up. Then there are 2 bolts that you just take out and the seats pop up. and for the one that flips down I believe you have to pop open a little cover right by the hing onthe back of the seat and there are bolts there 2. Its been awhile though.

a few months ago my whole passenger floorboard was flooded.. that shorted the ecu, locked the starter, and did one hell of a job on the flywheel.... in fact, im STILL working on getting the car back togeather..
although, that aside, i thought the leak was from the doors, since when i shut them hard and it rained again nothing happened.. well, it rained the other night, and my floorboard was full of water, AGAIN...
as posted above, its coming from the passenger plug thing, which i didnt even have in there.

Check the rear reflector markers on the rear bumper. Mine leaks on the driver side. We had a huge rainstorm here in MD back in July and my rear seats were soaked from all the water that collected in the spare wheel well and slushed around when I drove. It took me a while to figure out where the water seeped in from.
