tranny grinds.

i have a s1 B16 tranny i think the syncromesh is messed up on 3rd gear. and is it possible to have 2nd gear grind in high rpms? what would cause 2nd to grind? qould i need to get a tranny rebuilt.

it's dying out it seems EVERY b16a cable tranny is or has died out starting in 3rd gear.
Yes it is possible to have grind high rpm only, aviod it and don't go high rpm then.
You can do alot of differnt things to end these woes, easiest and cheapest is try some GM snyrcomesh in the tranny.
If you need more then rebuild swap converting to hyrdo all might be worth looking into.

I'm pretty sure b16 tranny's come from the factory with 3rd gear grinds.
Syncromesh is the stuff people put in the transmission to help grinding synchronizers, so the syncromesh can't be "messed" up
