I put about 5 gallons in my car today, and broke an axle on my first launch. How long will the VP C16 stay good?

Since it is not a sealed system, I think I remember being told up to max a week then it loses octane.

it should just start evaoporating i would figure. i wouldnt think it would lose enough octane to make the liquid weaker.

Get some Sta-bil--that is what I use because I go through periods of non-use. Especially now since I blew my motor and am waiting on pistons for the rebuild. I have used Sta-Bil on 100 octane Cam 2 unleaded sitting for 2-3 months with no issues. In the un-sealed system (carbs with a 1/2" vent line) Sta-Bil is a fuel life extender. They say (I am assuming in a sealed container) that it will keep fuel fresh for up to a year if used in the proper amount..

I say don't be cheap, when you get it up and running if it has been over 2 weeks run it but don't kill it then when it is low put some new race gas in, better safe than sorrry. I am sure somehweree online explains the life and octane of race gas
