Which bulb is best.
I'm posting this here becuase 1. it didnt belong in Integra forum, 2. didnt get any looks
I have a DA 90 integra rs
Hey guys I'm looking for some new headlight bulbs and was wondering which is best.
I want the look of HID. but do not want a BLUE bulb, I also want something that is going to light the road very well. Aside from a true HID retro fit

\
Thanks I bought Silverstar 55w bulbs for my fog lights. WHich were made for fog lights.
So I was thnking I should go with silverstart also for the headlights.
I hooked up the silverstar foglights, (yes daytime) and they look almost identical to my stanly foglights/ I did want a noticable amount of blue. But not those POS Cool blue bulbs.
So I'm thinking about going with the Hella Blue D.O.T light bulbs 9007
Let me know. thanks

You're not going to get both. You either get a blue tinted bulb for the look and sacrifice light output, or get a high performance halogen bulb without the blue color to it.
I use HiR bulbs, Philips Nighthawk, and other such high performing halogen bulbs to get better halogen light output. Silverstars DO lose light output, which really sucks. I switched mine out for an HID kit, and after I got sick of the glare and spotty lighting, I went to HiR and Philips Nighthawk bulbs and have been happy since.

ok.
Silverstars come with 300 extra lumens for low beam and an extra 150+ for
high beam.
This is on my 90 integra. So how they lose lightoutput is not understood to me.
They dont sell Hir, nighthawk at the rice store(advance/autozone)
Unless I am mistaken.

Where does it say improves by 300 lumens? I'd love to see this.
Read this anyway, it should help you understand:

It doesnt say it comes with 300 extra. It HAS 300 more than the curently used stock Headlight bulbs in my 90 da.
9004 - lumens 700/1200, max watts 50/70
9007 - lumens 1000/1350, max watts 60/70
Read the link, its nice and informative.
I'd prolly opt for silverstars.
I'll check the nighthawks at walmart tonight.
Are they that much better? Just wondering from someone who knows from experiance.
Thanks.

yea...but why do that? If you read the article you see how these blue bulbs are still legal but put out less light...why get blue tinted bulbs that put out 1000 low beams when you can get one that puts out 15-1700???

Just check around wiht Night Hawks and such, they should be able to tell you.
If you really want the blue color with good light output, make sure to avoid high wattage bulbs...85w instead of the stock 55, you'll fry your harness.

I have bad luck with Silverstars, they always die in a matter of 30-90 days on me. I have just been using bulbs from the Honda/Acura dealership lately since they are pretty cheap, but I am interested in the Luminics Titanium White so I may try them soon.
