Default stock sleeved b16 turbo number whatdya think??

The setup is a stock bore, stock sleeve b16..
weisco 9:1 pistons
big arp rod bolts
eagle rods
supertech .5mm oversize valves,springs,retainers
GSR cams

t3-t4 60 trim w/63ar
rc 550's
hondata

The timing is all the way advanced on the distributer and the vtec is set at 4200..

The car made 366hp and 244tq on 18psi..

Not many people like the way the vtec is set but my tuner swears by it honestly i don't know the reasoning but the guy is very knowledgeable so i just go with it..

It made 320hp on 15psi..

if it dips at vtec, vtec is engaged too soon. slowly raise vtec until the dip is gone, then you have a better power band

No Matt did'nt tune it he did on the stock motor and my LS turbo..

Yes the distributer is all the way forward advanced..

My tuner believes in stock redline i believe my redline is 8400 he says most bearings fail during high RPM's..

He swears by the 4200 vtec i believe he says it spools the turbo up quicker getting to the exhaust cam, not postive on that though but i believe that was the explanation.. I tried to get him to raise the vtec but he strongly disagreed.. He built and tuned the motor and everythings been great so i'm not gonna argue the car runs like crazy..

At vtec engagment it slightly dips with a lil hump the torque dip is slightly bigger i'm not sure why this was done i'm not a tuner or technical guru.. The dip on the hp graph is from 4200 to 4400 then it steadily climbs.. The dip on the torque graph is from 4200 till about 4700 then steadily climbs..

The car makes 100hp at 4700 rpm and goes over 300hp at 6400 rpm and makes 350hp at 7600 rpm

The torque goes over 100tq at 3700rpm and peaks at 6500rpm at 244tq then levels and drops slightly..

I will send matt the graph tommorow night AFTER I CALL THEM TOMMOROW and he can post it up for me..

You can gain spool more by playing with the cam gears.. Why the hell is the dizzy the whole way advanced? That makes no sense at all. A lot of things don't seem right with what you have said/done. Maybe it is because they are abnormal and we are picking up on them. A little more reasong for the advanced dizzy and the 4200 vtec engagement would be nice. I am not really buying the explanation.

But anyway as long as the car runs ok, then its all good. But I would be a little wary about the dizzy.

I would question why the dizzy is at full advance. Just for safety. Why didn't he just advance the timing within the program. It is almost impossible to tell where you are in the timing maps with the timing not synched.

he said he could make even more power if i'd let him fine tune it but i'm a worry wort and try not to kill my car so he got fuel right and was done.. He tuned it in maybe 7 pulls.. I know that my fuel is dead on the same anywhere from 15-18psi no more was needed not sure if that means jack but i'm learning..

With the much boost, timing is a HUGE part. If he didn't touch/tune timing, then I would take it either back or elsewhere to get that part done.

Just as a referance this is the dyno of when I tuned Samuel's car previously. This was the same exact turbo setup on a bone stock b16 on 7-8psi. Vtec was around 5500. It could have used more timing, but Samuel didn't want to push it so we didnt. BTW revving to 9k was an accident . For some reason the rev limit decided not to kick in.

All the way advanced huh? That makes no sense at all. Go ahead and explain this one.

Vtec at 4200 huh? Too low.
