my GUESS would be a LS 4.40 countershaft to match a ITR 14 bolt 4.40 ring gear.

According to that site, both the 4.266 final and the 4.40 final use a 15 tooth main shaft, this leads me to believe that you can just drop the 4.40 in a ls case

i seriosuly think we can just drop the diff into the case with the CTR ring gear on it. maybe not? the b16 trans DOES have a 4.4 final, i just dont know if it wil mesh the same

just because they are both 15 tooth shafts doesn't mean the pitch and diameter are the same.

this is what ive been trying to tell you justin, this is why u cant just drop the ring gear into an LS case and have a 4.4 final

The 90 ls and 98 ls have different part number (ring gear) I would imagine the em1 would too because it has a 4.40 fd

yeah thats what ive heard, the situation is we have a busted s1 (differnetial exploded) SO maybe the best bet is using the ys1 ls with the ctr fd on the ls countershaft? and if that doesnt mesh rihgt (as indicated from mista bones) we could swap in a counter shaft from a 92+ 4.40 fn tranny

yes, but we're using a 90-91 clutch, so we cant use the ys1 trans, the splines dont line up.

the tranny this is going into is a jdm S1 with a 4.4 final

I just read on here that the 90-93 LS and 94+ GSR ring gears are the same 10 bolt....

Someone is selling a Cusco LSD with a 4.26 ring on it. I offered a 4.40 ring to help interest in his sale.

BTW 90-95 LS Diffs are the same.........
