that axle didnt snap from power and traction, it snapped from rust. the rubber harmonic dampner made the rust build there even more than the rest of your car, therefore it was WEAK.

believe it or not: our cars making NEAR stock to stock power (any motor) wont snap an axle w/out huge slicks. street tires will give way before an axle shaft snaps unless you have other problems, thats how i figured it was rust related.

Wow I need to post the pick of my snapped axle and the axle piece that I pulled out of my tranny. I have an obd-1 LS swap(ls tranny) with intake, header, exhaust, and a 6 puck. I broke my napa axle after I had the motor in for 3 weeks. It broke off flush with the tranny, I had to drill/tap the piece, put a bolt in it, and yank it out... It took me 2 hours to get it out. And I was on street tires taking off at only 4k.

i garentee you it had nothing to do w/ the power and traction. defective axle most likely. how many have you snapped since then???

Yeah mine was definately a defective axle. If I knew how to post up a picture of it I would. I'm having more axle problems with mine. I made a post but nobody has replied with any answers.
