Default Seat bracket fabrication...

Does anyone have pictures of brackets they custom made to fit racing or other non-stock seats into their cars?

I got some seats, and the rails are like way wider and I was thinking about using 1/4 inch steel plating to make a little bracket washer thing but people say that it might not be safe and ODOT approved, and I really don't wanna have anything dangerous about my car.

Also I checked and I can't order in seat rails from the seat manufacturer.

Another question... are racing seats pretty universal? So is there a chance that Sparco seat rails are the same as other racing seats in terms of rails and stuff?

Thanks so much. I got these rad seats and I want to get them in my car!!!!

I just put CRX Si seats in my hatch. It was a biotch and much fabrication was neccesary. Use the properly graded hardware and you're fine. You may not find it at lowes, but luckily my dad had some laying around.

Normal bolts will likely just shear off in an accident. I forget what grade it is, but there's a limit to what is acceptable.

How would I find out what grade of steel and bolts is acceptable. I would assume some sort of hardware stores would carry it on account of the fact that I am sure there are tons of people custom building hot rods and stuff. Maybe I shoud just check out a hot rod shop.

Thanks.

look for "GRADE 8" nuts/bolts they are strong enough for what you need to be safe.

Yeah, I chatted up with my girlfriends dad about it. He is building a plane and stuff like that, plus he knows some people with some fab shops. He is also a laser engineer and so he explained how he is pretty sure if we use this certain setup it should all be pretty safe, etc. Might take some time though...

The seats are all black and should look rad! I will get some pics up!
