for better fuel mileage, they did a lot of little things to pinch every mile they could outtta the HF

yep, the multi port while being slighty more expensive to produce, it's much more eficient then the Throtle body injection of the dual point.

you'd think though that with 'Parts Bin Manufacturing' that they would have just done MPFI all around...
But yeah, HF gets MPFI for efficiency.
