Lets drop a bike engine in the hatch
My friend is saying that he thinks its a good idea for you civic hatch owners to drop a hayabusa engine inside your cars. He said the weight loss would work for you guys. Heres our convo. Long convo but fun read.
anonymous guy: hayabusa is 210hp
anonymous guy: HAHAHHHA
Logical Guy: yeah..they are able to get so much horses now
anonymous guy: all tuning **** man
anonymous guy: if you think about it
Logical Guy: i dunno why u need 210 on a bike
Logical Guy: for street
anonymous guy: my friend rides one
anonymous guy: hahha
anonymous guy: went to cal poly
anonymous guy: hmmm
Logical Guy: i could see why u would want to
Logical Guy: but i dont see why u would need for street use
anonymous guy: why not put a hayabusa engine on like a civic hatchback? haha
Logical Guy: lols
anonymous guy: you can drop so much weight
anonymous guy: by doing that ****
anonymous guy: and your getting 200hp out of it
Logical Guy: torque?
anonymous guy: and like a 15000 redline
anonymous guy: HAHAHHAHA
anonymous guy: WOULD SOUND SOOO SWEET
Logical Guy: nahh wouldnt work
Logical Guy: it means 210 with that weight
Logical Guy: not with civic weight dude
Logical Guy: compare a bike and a car
anonymous guy: gutted
anonymous guy: hahaha
anonymous guy: iono
Logical Guy: and its open air cooling
Logical Guy: duh!!
anonymous guy: all that **** could be changed
anonymous guy: for cooling
Logical Guy: they would have done it already
Logical Guy: it would have been cheaper too
Logical Guy: and the torque and weight?
anonymous guy: weight of?
Logical Guy: civic vs bike
anonymous guy: hehe
anonymous guy: still a 210hp engine
Logical Guy: lols
anonymous guy: sure the civic would weigh like 1000 more pounds than the bike...
Logical Guy: id like to see a 170hp civic si battle your 210 hp bike motored car
Logical Guy: lols
Logical Guy: ill put money on the si
anonymous guy: **** first of all if i got it to work
Logical Guy: plus its chain driven
Logical Guy: you would have to put so much money in converting it
Logical Guy: lols
anonymous guy: theres still something rotating that chain
Logical Guy: it wouldnt be worth it at all
anonymous guy: it would be the lightest civic haha
Logical Guy: yeah but it wont drop in
Logical Guy: and anything custom would requirte $$
anonymous guy: some people pay alot of moeny ot be unique...**** that aint me
anonymous guy: hahaha
Logical Guy: and it wouldnt put out enough torque
anonymous guy: have you seen the latest honda tuning in the magaize haha
anonymous guy: 200hp
Logical Guy: and it would overheat hauling tons vs hundreds of pouinds
anonymous guy: 120 tq
anonymous guy: HAHHAHAA
Logical Guy: i suggest u post your findings in the honda forums

Did you really need to quote the whole conversation? It's pretty obvious what you're referring to since yours was the only reply.
By your logic
Did your mom really need to give birth to you? We already knew how youd turn out.
. You didnt have to post that to let us know your an ***. I mean look at your sig. Qoutes of people that mistyped.

yeah it would not work very well....not enough torque to get the car moving fast enough
but overheat? nahhh
busa engines are not ''open air cooling'' hahaha lol

Not enough torque, but instead, you get 15k rpm. Then you mate it with a good tranny and gear it down, and you will get all the torque that you need.

first you dont get 15k.. do your homework
second you cant just mate a tranny.. trannys are part and inside the block, custom gears if anything
not feasible

a 15k rpm redline was mentioned in the conversation, so I used that. I don't know any specifics about this engine, so I was just saying in general that gearing down will give you more torque.
So the basic consensus would be that a hayabusa swapped civic would be slower than a stock civic hatch back and no point of doing this correct? That 15k rpm I dont know where my friend got that number from. It actually redlines at 11k
well not a stock civic, but...
just considering the amount of work that would have to be put into doing it; vs. speed that you would get, not very wise cosidering the options. Im only basing my opinion performance wise.

yeah, theres bike engines used in few cars over here in finland. Theres a CBR 600 engine in a small toyota pickup too, its fast.

seen it done on youtube i think. it was a smart car with a busa engine. looked fun. they made it rear drive. 120 torque on the busa? if thats true why isnt this feasable? give it 20 more lb ft. and there you have the same #s that came out of my highly modded type-r eg hatch.
