Default A/C problems

Im trying to replace the valve on the low side but once its totally unscrewed the valve wont come out, anyone know why the heck it wont???? By the way its an R12 system.

I'm not sure but are you replaceing the valve means you are letting r12 out?

No, I had the old refrigerant removed professionally, then I replaced the compressor, filter dryer, and the expansion valve. But I put nitrogen in the system to check for leaks and found out there is a leak at the valve at the low end.
