96 Civic LX - Power window sticks, Motor replacement didn't help
I have a 96 Civic LX sedan with power windows. Recently my driver's side window started to move very slowly, and then it wouldn't move at all. I figured the motor must have died, so I replaced it. After replacing the window motor, the window still moves slowly. I unbolted it from the power rail, and found that could barely lift it out of the window. It seems to be getting stuck on something. Anyone got ideas?
Could my side rails be bent? Door bent? Rubber guides peeling apart? Help!

When I unbolted the window from the regulator, I still couldn't lift it out of the door without using alot of force.
Maybe Eran was talking about the rails on the side that hold the window.

Did that start happening all of a sudden? If it did you should be considering the possibility that someone is trying to break into your car. Sometimes they do go bad on their own.
My regulator went out awhile back the teeth on the regulator were chewed up. I replaced it and everything was fine. You might want to spray silicone spray in the window channels after your done to get the window moving more freely.

Why did you replace the motor? Do you verify it was bad?
While you were doing that, you should have checked the regulator and run channel which is the real common problem on not only 6th gen's, but most Honda's. I had to replace the regulator and run channel on the driver's side of my 99 Si and I just replaced the run channel on my 92 CX. The problem is the run channel gets old and twists up and the glass binds on it trying to go up. We replace them all the time. A little research goes a long way. Your motor was more then likely just fine.

LoL All this time I thought you guys meant the metal channel that holds that glass. I finally ripped apart everything in the window and found that it was actually the peice of rubber that fits into the rubber channel that caused the problem.
Looks like over time the rubber gets warped around the shape of the bottom of the window which is usually up. I took a soldering pencil and heated it up to bend it back in shape. Works good as new now. A little wd-40 didn't hurt either.
