Default cylinder temp vs. cylinder pressure in reference to long or short stroke?

crossthreaded from tech forum do to no response: ok long story short yesterday at the gym there is a kid that works at rolls royce the engineering aspect not at a dealership. and we got on the subject of cylinder temp. vs. cylinder pressure. this was brought up do to this subject helping me chose the next block i run. my thought process was the if you have a longer stroke then the cylinder temp would be cooler due to the longer stroke= more time for walls to cool plus more surface area to dispurse heat. but with that you would have more of temp range and a cylinder pressure range so i asked if that would be more prone to detonation due to the higher range of changing temp and pressure. he said he really didnt know but he knew that it couldnt be true because cylinder temp and pressure are on opposite sides of the equation. with that being said the reason i had those feeling were due to my beliefs with short stroke. more of a constant cyl pressure and friction over a smaller surface area on the cyl walls. and also would bore size have an impact on cyl temps. thanks for any help.

I think the cams you run have more of an effect on cylinder pressure than the stroke.

well we could get into many other ways to cool cyl temps and lower cyl press but im tryin to keep this in reference to stroke!
