i have a 95 civic ex and its been over heating. i tried new cap, nothin. new antifreeze, nothing. new thermostat, nothing. rigged the fan to stay on, nothing. the radiator is relatively new. changed leaky hoses, nothing. the only thing i havent done is the pump.
thats the next thing ima change but if n e one has had the same problem but it wasnt the pump let me now cuz ima change the pump out real soon.

IF the heater core is clogged it blocks the coolant in the head causing your high temperature problem. Feel the lower pipe to your radiator after letting the car run. It should be hot to the touch, if its cool you might have a clogged heater core. Another way to check to see if you have a clogged heater core is to bridge the core hoses across each other, like I suggested earlier as this bypasses the heater core (which is what could be clogged) Good luck.

Yeah your a dumb ***. What do you think happens when you turn the heat off? Valve closes and no coolant passes through the core period. His car might overheat if the radiator were clogged or the thermostat is stuck close(no very common tho).

Its possable you got a blown headgasket and the combustion gases are leaking into the cooling system causing it to boilover and then overheat from lack of coolant. Based on not very much information this is a possablity.

o ya idk if this will help but like right when my car starts to get hot it starts reving. today i was driving and when i got to a light and stopped it started reving between 1000 and 1500 rpms
Chances are it is a head gasket and it's boiling over and getting air in the IACV causing your idle issue. Don't keep driving the car till you get it fixed. Doesn't matter it's your only car, it could go from a $100 gasket to a $800 motor.
did u bleed your coolant system??....u coolant system might have air in it causing your car to overheat.....so to fix it....start up ur car with the cap off and look at the coolant for bubbles....if u see bubbles that means there is air still in the system...leave the car on and allow the car to get all the air out and then check it again...
its not really the actual numbers its supposed to b at thats important...u just want them to b relatively similar...like 180 180 175 180...stuff like that....if there is more than a 10 to 15 pressure difference there is probably either an issue or a start of one...

i recently bleed the system because there was water mixed with 50/50. then i found out that my thermostat wouldnt open so i bought a new thermostat and ima flush the system again today and see if there is n e air bubbles.
so what was the problem/resolution with this? sorry for bringing back an old thread my car (94 coupe) is just doing the same thing
bouncing idle from 1000-1500. rising temps, im taking it he changed his thermostat and bled the system and was ok?
