Does anybody know of a drag strip that has some sort of weekly test and tune/fun drags sort of event set up? I am looking on the sites but they say nothing about it theres gotta be something...

LACR in Palmdale has runs every Friday I beleive. Also Irwindale has an 1/8 mile track that's pretty nice and Perris and Qualcomm Stadium have 1/8 mile tracks also. Of the three 1/8 mile tracks , Irwindale has the best track. You can get really good 60 ft. times there. Irwindale is every Thursday and Perris and Qualcomm are open every Friday. Hope this helps.

 

hmm.. nothing for 1/4 miles... thats weird pomona only opens for big events what a waste.

try fontana. californiaspeedway.com. check out the dragway information.they have steet legal drags every couple of weeks

 

Fontana is today street legals...
Irwindale is every thurs eveings but thats a 1/8 track.. but its a good sticky pavement

 

Palmdale is 1/4 mile.

Yea wednesday is the best day to go.less people and more runs

 

You can get a lot of runs in at Palmdale. I went to the Speedway today and it took more than an hour to get a run in, compared to making runs and going right back in line at Palmdale.

 

Palmdale is also open on Saturdays and sundays for test and tune or other events. Just check there weekly calender online.
ONe Saturday it was a mustang and corvette event but it was also open to all racers.
Only 3 hondas including myself were there. NO RICERS except for a v6 mustang guy lol. All 3 honda were FAST and all motor so the mustang and corvette guys were talking to us and were like WTF wow nice times. I did not know the other 2 honda guys I just happened to meet them there

 

anybody know when fontana is gonna have runs on a saturday again.

if u want 1/8 mile go to Irwindale or Barona in SD. or make that drive up to bakersfield for the 1/4 mile.

you can go to California speedway (fontana)this weekend for the PSCA event. a lot of V8's but there will be some of us out there.

then Irwindale on thurs night for 1/8th mile (have to run a muffler) or Barona near San Diego (can run open header)

other than that there isnt a damn place to race...

Fontana every few months for street legals (have to have current Reg and insurance!)

 

suxxx that in socal we have lost just about all our 1/4mile tracks(run with ya brung kinda thing)...
LACR...C-BAD were the last 2 where we could go ***** out at....open header etc....
i never got crap from those guys long as i went fast.
these days....if i go to the Q or Barona...the v8 guys love it when i run a 7xxx in the 1/8th and want to know how to make their wifes grocery getter fast hahaha.
socal needs a racer friendly track

 

There are nice tracks in Long Beach, Compton, Sylmar and Ontario. I hear they're pretty good and the competition is fierce. They even have around the clock 5-0 to make sure nothing gets out of hand..... J/K

yeah i've visited many of those "tracks" you even win money!! but unfortunatly i also won 3 trips to jail... oh well time to and work on getting this POS ready for the next event.... **** i have plenty of time until the next event....
