isnt it just 1st generation b16a and 2nd gen b16a in japan not b16a1 or b16a2...

 

as far as i know the only time we get the A1 or A2 afterwrads is when the come to the US. but they are different motors..like the SirI in Ef's (160hp) ands Sir II which came in the Eg's which was like 170hp.

 

crxgator you are right in japan they don't have any suffixes after their motors unless it is an r spec which will have an r at the end. So basically any generation jdm b16a will just say b16a, same goes for all of the b series. Only the usdm ones have the numbers at the end so technically there never was a b16a1, only b16a2 and b16a3.
