Wut spark plugs to run??
Hey guys....
I wanted to change my plugs, I have been using the stock Type R platinum plugs for the past 2 seasons since i finished the build, but I spoke to someone 2day and told me i shouldnt run platinum plus, he recomended a basic plug that could be gapped to my specific need..... He mentioned something about the high compression wouldnt be good with platinum plugs???
Wut do u guys think?? Thanx!!
Here is the setup:
B18c5
stock rods and crank
CTR pistons
CTR crank pulley
Mild porting job
Jdm integra R cams
bored out tb and intake man.
hondata intake man. gasket
all the little bolt ons.... AEM fuel rail, press. reg., CAI, and more
Full MSD setup
DC JDM 2.5" header
2.5" custom midpipe with Spoon exhaust

After running your car for 2 seasons, with good results, why would you listen to a dork? If you have had problems, then ask the question, after 2 seasons it sounds like you are doing OK. I personally do not use "platinums" but I also do not run plugs 2 years either.
they werent run for 2 years....
last season they were used for about a month, and this year for prolly another 4 months... I dont drive my car in the winter, and it is only taken out for a drive 2-3 days a week....
and u said u dont use platinum... is it a b-series??

platinum and high compression should be fine, stock NSX spark plugs are double platinum and there CR is 11:1... good luck in your quest...

double platinum means that the spark plug electrode is platinum and there is a piece of platinum welded to the ground (fish hook looking thing) so there is platinum between both sides of the spark... check out sparkplugs.com for more info and pictures if this dosent make sense.
I was using plat's for 2 years(not the same plugs the whole time) before switching to standard NGK's this last spring. I felt a difference (using my ***-dyno) the first time down the street. Not a good difference either. I will finish out these NGK's, then switch back to plat's in the spring.

I belive Copper has higher conductivity when compared to Platinum, which means less resistance and more power. Only problem with Copper is that it is not as durable as platinum, and needs to be replaced frequently. I think the cost makes up for this fact, as you can get a set of V-power's for around $10, where the platinums are $45/set. I replace mine every other oil change.
