Default un-Warping a flange

I have a headflange thats warped after welding on the runners. It's 1/2" so I thought it probably wouldnt warp. I was wrong about that.

Now, to try to fight the problem, I clamped both ends down and ran the tig for a while in between the runners to heat up the material and hopefully un-warp it. Well, it didnt work and its still warped. Is there anything else I can do besides belt sanding? It's warped pretty bad so I'm pretty sure belt sanding it will leave 1 part of the flange less than 1/4" thick.

Is there any way to un-warp a headflange without having to go to a machine shop?

If you think it's so bad that milling it won't work, I don't think cutting expansion slots will either. next time you weld the flange, make sure it's bolted to the head or a flat stock

Could try clamping it down and throwing a torch on it till you heat the flang evenly till a dull cherry red colour and hope it holds its shape after a slow cool down to take the bend out of it.

You're gonna need to heat the runners up also. Other wise they will want to bend the flange.
