Hey guys. I'm designing a straight through muffler that attenuates much better than perforated core mufflers by using internal Helmholtz resonators. The results is the same or better flow with less noise especially at low frequencies (ie cruisin' speeds). Does this interest any of you? They'd be manufactured from stainless steel.

If they're cheap yes. If not, no

Define cheap. Yes we have working prototypes already and they're less than half as loud as the perf. core mufflers at about 3000rpm.

 

any idea on what kind of price range we'd be talking about for a 2.5in?

 

Can we see some test data? I might have a muffler you guys can try back to back or if you want to send us a 3" one we could do the testing

i want to see some pics becuase if i remember helmholtz's correctly, they look like little christmas ornaments.
