Default Ride 2 wheels to much, neglected 4....

Apparantly i spent so much time on my bike, and i forgot that vehicles need the oil drain bolt screwed in, in order for the vehicle to operate properly. I made it about 3 blocks from my house when she died, sounded bad. Called my dad and he towed me home. We sat in the drive way for a bit trying to come up with an explanation. The best part was when we were putting oil in, 2 quarts, and still wasnt showing up on the dip stick. Pouring the third one in we noticed it was just going right through.

hahah...it was a 1991 Nissan Pathfinder, sucks but not the end of the world. Couldnt have been worth more than $200....

I still thought it was mildly humorous.

So I guess you never change the oil in your bike either then? Same concept, not flaming, just asking a question.

That would have been funny to watch, I always triple check the drain plug and filter just to make sure that doesn't happen. I'm a parnoid ****

He will know when he does that on his bike. When you go around a corner you will find out the hard way.

I dont change my bike stealership does it for free. I don't know if you guys remember my post a while back but my drain plug fell out after 100miles (1 day of riding) after an oil change. Was on a turn kind of made me a little mad as you would expect.

That's exactly why I do all my work myself.

Didn't seem odd to you when you had an extra bolt left over after the oil change?

U have to double check whenever u have someone work on it or watch them as they do it. There's always something not tightened up all the way. Sometimes i triple check after doing it myself.

Yeah, that was called sarcasm!! Lol "hmmm this extra bolt must be for the exhaust fluid blow off?"

Naw...ive always changed my own oil, and im pretty **** about the crush washers and fresh oil ring on the filter. I think its just that it sat for so long, was moved from this side of the resort to the other, and never went far enough to need an oil change. Its pretty rough terrain in parts of my drive way, so it could have come loose over time, or got sheered off somewhere.

You can check and check and check, and then check again, but you cant always avoid situations like this.

Anyway..it was time for a new car anyway, 2000 Jetta was my fix, hella good gas mileage for a school punk like me, four doors so i can toss my 4 year old in an out easily, and heated seats so i can get a sweaty ***.
