Default B16a into '99 LX Civic engine swap

I'm sure ya'll have seen this rant too many times to bear, but I have some basic questions to ask that aren't specifically addressed in the superb sticky on doing the wiring swap for the engines....

To give you a quick background on what I am working with: I have the engine harness that orginally came with the LX as well as the OBDII ECU..the D16Y7 that used to be in the car is now sittin on the side all by it's lonesome. The modified B16a is now in place with new engine mounts, including the lower tranny and lower engine/AC unit mount. With the B16a I had the engine side of the wiring harness...as well as the OBDI ECU that came with it, but not the cabin harness to connect the two...go figure. I swapped out the intake manifold and throttle body for a Skunk2 performance intake and slightly larger throttle body. I do not currently have the sensors for the throttle body, (should I take the old ones off the stock throttle or order new ones?). I also have a Greddy turbo attached on the front...but that's for a different forum .

After reading the sticky for making this arduous swap, I realize that I have two choices to make as far as the overall wiring/ECU setup for the car:
a) Use the OBDI ECU, get the cabin harness and figure out how to wire in the portions in the cabin that are in the LX model setup and not in the Si
b) Take the OBDII ECU and LX harness, which would easily connect the cabin side electrical without any hitches, but then be forced to add in the connectors and wiring in for VTEC etc
c) Use the OBDII ECU but use the conversion OBDII-2-OBDI connector to finish on the original B16a wiring harness(would still have to find the cabin side portion of the harness)

If you guys have some insight on which is better for the performance of the car or just straight up do-able please let me know. Also, I will be setting up a page for ya'll to see some of the steps I've taken to convert this natural family car into a sleeping monster that is adaptable to street or track or even smoother driving in the hills n vallies of our fine countryside.

get a obd1 ecu, you say your going turbo...then why would you want a obd2 ECU?

Send the wiring harness to RY Wire, they'll take care of you.

While at it get their obd2-obd1 conversion harness for the ecu.

I don't know much about the differences between the ECU's other than that the later ones require more sensors. If I go OBDI wouldn't I still have to deal with the connections on the harness(which I'm fairly certain is SiR). I have been searching around to buy the cabin-side harness connection for the OBDI series and have had no luck. The only problem spot I see there is getting the LX's electronic needs met by connecting the OBDI harness. Will the P30 ECU run the LX's internals(i.e. A/C etc) without any problems?

Also...I am not familiar with this RY wire? what does the RY stand for?

Thank you for your patience with a new gearhead.

Also....I am having problems attaching the LX's powersteering pump onto the B16 engine block...is there a particular car's mounting piece that I can use there or do I have to go conversion? Also...will I be able to use the LX's cruise control on the OBDI B16 engine?

if you have a obd2 car and want to run a obd1 ecu you need a jumper harness to allow the ecu to plug in. If I was you, unless you have a complete b16 harness, or know electrical, I would just pull the harness and send it to a place (like the one i mentioned above). After that it would be directly plug and play. If not your going to have to add a few sensors and change plugs.

and if you plan on running any type of engine managment like crome, hondata, uberdata etc then you NEED a obd1 ecu to tune for turbo.

thanks man, I'll be goin obd1 ecu, using a jumper to utilize the LX harness and make the modifications necessary to connect everything needed onto the engine.

another problem....will I be able to use the b16a's dizzy? or will I have to change that out? I noted that the b16 dizzy main plug only uses 7 wires and has a 2nd plug with the 2 wires, while the obd2 dizzy has 8 wires on the plug. It looked like the 7 wire on the b16 dizzy was for the positions and ignition timing, while the 2nd plug was possibly just for power? Please shed some light on this noob.
