Default What "Street Fighter" type bike to buy...Buell, Ducati, Triumph???

Well I am still slowly recovering from my accident and I am trying to figure out what I want to buy.

I am not going to be buying for at least another 2 months or so, but I just cant figure out what the hell I want. I know for sure I want a streetfighter type bike, but which one...I just don't know.

I like the Buell XB series, but I dont think I am ready for a morotrcycle that sounds "Chopper" like. You know, I just dont wanna sound like the typical H D rider out there. I also don't like the fact that they have no top end what so ever. The tourque would be great, but I need a little rpm range here and there. And I love the looks of them in black.

Now the Ducati's. I want something around 1000 cc and really like the Monster S2R 1000's, but I dont know if the air cooled engine will work all that well in the extreme south GA heat.
The S4R is an awesome bike on paper and pics, but I don't think I can justify spending 14000 on a bike. This is the one I really do want, but I dont think I can squeeze out the money.

Triumph Speed Tripple...SEXY! Really sweet bike. I like the fact that its totally different with the 3 Cylinder engine, and it just looks great. I don't however, like the duel headlight in the front of them. It doesn't fit that bike to me. Also I can't find a price tag for them anywhere.

I am even looking into the Suzuki SV1000S, but I dont read too many good things about them, and they dont seem to "original"

So here are my choices, let me know what you think of which one you would get in this situation. I really dont want to spend more than 10G's.

Thanks for voting

I am really looking for a twin engine, but I will look up the said models when I get to work if I have some free time.

Kawi looks pretty nice from a quick glance, but the exhaust has gotta go...easy

Classic ducati's...not my type.

revs until 11,000 rpm's

125 stock hp, light weight 1,000 cc street bike. Don't have to pay sportbike insurance rates.

Easily add a power commander, pipes, k&n and your at 135 no prob.

triple was totally going to be my second choice, probably in black although I do love that white. Loved the single side swing arm, rims, body. But I absolutely hated the dual headlights . Looks kinda cheap compared with the rest of the bike. I wish they made a decent kit or fab something up.

I'm sure there are headlight kits for the bike. Even if there aren't, it shouldn't be hard to modify a kit for another bike.

I say the tripple because its unique. Its the only one I know of. And I do want a twin, btu I am willing to look other ways.

How is the Z1000 comfort wise? I wish they offered it in black.

And I hear your pain on the tripples headlights. I think it just kills the bike.

Anyone no the pricetag on the tripple????

Why do I keep spelling Triple tripple??????? LOL

The more and more I look at the speed triple the more and more I lik eit.

How is the reliability on these things??? I have been looking around on some forums and don't see too many problems.

If it matters, the next Z1000 will have the 10R engine...

What do you want out of your streetfighter? Cruisin'? Carvin' canyons?

I like the speed triple though. IMO, it brought the segment back to life back in '98.

There's a guy in my town who rides a Z1000. He's kind of a dick

Maybe he's read the Kawi-love threads on HT.

I want something to Cruise mostly, with some spirited riding here and there. I really want something different and mean looking.

The Z1 is nice, its just to sportbike looking to me.

id shoot for a speed triple. but for the money id take the z1000. and i would wait for the 07 model, the previous models havent got great reviews. they said lots of vibration, soft suspension, and no power under 3k rpms. check out the new cycle world, i believe they do a reviews on 12 standard/streetfighters.
