Default Boosted D17 or NA B16?

If anyone has ever done so which would be the victor in the 1/4 mile? The boosted D17 or the NA B16?

:sigh:

You simply don't want to but a B in an EM2. Just don't try. If you are going to swap, swap a K series.

Also, a turbo'd D17 would probly lay down about as much as a NA K20

But, at what cost? supermex has 300whp on his d17a1, and he probably has closer to 10k in that motor, at least. And it is maxed out.

Why not but a JDM K20a for 5600, install it yourself, start with 220whp, and be able to have more modification ability beyond that stock 220.

I don't believe there is much more to be drawn from the d17 than 290-300 whp.Just look at the amount of time, parts, tuning, and money it took to get it there.

I'm not knocking a boost'd D17a1/2. It actually crossed my mind in my build. I just like the feel of a turbo K24a4 frankenstein motor. Put goosebumps on my arm.

I understand this, but that's not the question I'm asking. I'm asking if a boosted D17 would beat out a naturally aspirated B16 in the 1/4 mile.

That is too much of an open ended question.

Too many varibles... Car, weight, driver, modifications, tuning.

there's people w/300whp out of na b16s, and probably more reliable then a 200whp boosted d17 w/minimal engine work done.

i'd go with the na b16. but that's just answering your question, i wont get into what it takes to swap it in your 7thgen.

your question is too vague btw, what car is this b16 and d17 in? that'd completely throw off your whole scenario.

I was saying he should put a K in. Theres no way I would have a turbo'd car that put out NA numbers.

IMO

Drivers being equal and it being a

d17a2 on 8psi ~ 200whp
vs a lightly modded b16 in an EG coupe

Boost would win,

now if thats a EG hatch, thats a different story.

I would have to say that a boosted d17 would win against a slightly modded b16.

lol i think he mightve mistyped and typed a 3 instead of a 2. 300whp NA on a 160bhp motor NA with no spray is pretty hard if not impossible... but like i said, he probably meant 200whp.

Well what about an EG hatch. Hatch would probably win because of the large weight difference right?

An Eg hatch with no mods. Just running the NA B16. It'll beat out the boosted coupe?
