Default B in the H??

One time, I heard that you can put B-series springs and retainers in the H22? I'm building an extra head right now and need to save as much as possible and B stuff is easy to come by. just wondering.

skimping on the engine isn't something i would do.

but if you look at the part numbers. it might show some differences.

also......h22 springs / retainers aren't even that much more expensive?

you can put the b-series springs in your h22 just fine, but you will probably end up smashing all your vavles, but if thats waht floast your boat then go for it.

bseries springs are shroter than the h22s, they have the same diameter and **** though.

yo eddie, i got a buddy of mine running type R valvesprings and retainers in his lude. IIRC he measured the height of the springs to be the same as the H's. I'll have to do some searching and find it.

i got no clue if they have the same seat pressure tho.

ah, i remember most of the aftermarket ones are shorter than the aftermarket h22s ones though, thats for sure, never really played with stock vs stock. this woudl be interesting if its true and i apologize if i was wrong about it.

also from what i recall the b-series springs seem to run less seat pressure than the h22s in general, but its been awhile since i've been spring shopping

oh yeah, this also depends on which aftermarket brand you are talkin about, like the drop in ones which dont require new spring seats like the skunks and waht not, they are different.

but if u went with ferreas, they both use the same spring but different spring seats to make up the height difference i believe. this makes it easier for them to manufacture springs because they can make them all one height, and just machine differnt seats to accomidate different head types.
