I picked up a 92' Accord EX for my daughter. 105,000 mi.
The car sat while we replaced interior.(all New). Started driving car regularly now ran great at first, now wants to stall when you come to a stop. You could shift into nuetral to try to catch it but once you stop it will stall anyway. The local Honda guru can not diagnose or fix problem. No codes, tried every sensor, runs fine other than that. oh yeh when it stall it will start right back up no problem, no hesitation idles fine accelerates smooth, everything checks out. HELP! Spent alot of money already fixing this thing up.

 

well first thing i would say is check all the air vacuums and make sure all the hoses are in the proper position. if nothing then it could posibly ur throtle valve(or something like that). take it out and spray it with crab cleaner. i had that problem on my nissan 240sx. get further advice tho becasue im still a Noob

 

thanks, tried all that, all vacuum lines are good throttle body was changed out, all sensors tested, no luck

 

Seems to be a somewhat common complaint... RPMs dip to near stalling or actually stalls when coasting to a stop.

In my case, on a '90 Civic Si, it would only happen as the temp guage was comming off the cold mark until halfway to the normal temp point. I adjusted the base idle, went over everthing else, with no change. The O2 sensor did read slow and lazy though. I replaced it with an OEM sensor and the dips went away.

This may not correct your problem, but if you haven't already, check your O2 sensor.

 

O2 was replaced, new tested. The real bitch about this one is it runs fine on a full tank of gas, once it gets to 1/2 the problem starts, fill it up problem goes away.

 

1/2 tank of fuel ? does it hesitate under heavy load..ie laboring up hills... weak fuel pump..i've seen that often with tank fuel pumps
