Fontana Sept 23 Street legals? Who's going?

can you explain exactly what this is for us east coast guys? just curious.

Theres few opportunities in the Los Angeles area to get some 1/4 mile times in. Pomona stopped doing street legals to the best of my knowledge, and LACR is at altitude, not to mention its a less than ideal track.

Even then Fontana (California Speedway) isnt that much better.

 

What time is it open?

WHAT: Racing for all street legal cars.

WHEN: Saturday, September 23, 2006

WHERE: California Speedway, 9300 Cherry Avenue, Fontana
The quarter-mile Auto Club Dragway is located just north of the main entrance
next to the railroad tracks.

TIME: Gates open at 6 am. Tickets go on sale 7:00 am. Tech inspection begins at 7:00 am. Racing begins at 9:00 am. (All times are subject to change) ARRIVE EARLY – 1st 400 CARS ONLY.

COST: General admission tickets are $10 per person. Children 12 and under are free. Racers- $20

NOTES: Cars must be registered and insured for the street and must have proof as such. All cars must have mufflers. Attention Drivers: No shorts, No sandals, No tank tops.
All racers must be at least 16 and have a valid driver's license. Anyone 16 & 17 years of age must have parental (both parents) permission to race. Those forms are available at the Speedway office. If the parents are not present, the original form must be notarized. Cars are limited to 10 second, all faster may not race at this event.

we just got back from the event track was horrible they said it was prepped to the 330 NO WAY !! also the wind was head on with plenty of dirt to follow. either way fontana is a good track just needs to be alittle more tme to get the track right,

 

ya i went also, the dust was horrable. that lasted till about noon then the wind bring it in never really stopped. oh well my first time draging and it was way fun, 6 runs rocked too.

 

i was there the wind did suck but the turn out was ok i guess i seen alot of clean cars but not too fast i was disipointed in the sti's only hittin 13 the evo's were nice but i did see some cool hatches an my boy with the white coupe hitin 12's

What was up with the seventy billion trucks lol? They were beating all the imports, too hahah. What time did everyone pack up? I was only there till 3.

today (sunday) is some sort of trucker show and drag day for diabetes (sp?). so whos going to next months, all the uti kids are going to be there and there are some with some fast ****.
