usdm h22 head with type-s cams????HELP
I dont know exactly what your problem is because you removed everything but i know that when you use type s cams in a usdm head you need to also use the type s valve train also. I dont know exactly what messes the head up but you definitly need the valvetrain also to run those cams.
i ran my usdm head with type-s cams and the valve floated. slapped anotherhead on there and actually put type-S valvetrain in it and runs fine. u can run the stock valvetrain but someone told me you can only rev to 7400

I think it's the amount of lift the Type S cams cause on the stock h22 valve train that puts the wear on the internals...you will need the Type S valve springs and retainers... it's not the RPM its the lift...
Also haven't seen a dyno from someone switching stock cams to type S cams anyone have one
?

the valve seats on the type s is also different from usdm. i think the type s valve seats were 45ยบ and usdm was 60ยบ, so it would be a good idea to swap valvetrain also... unless you like to break stuff =p
