Default edelbrock header vs jerrybuilt racing header (dyno sheets)

i had the edelbrock header on the car since the swap was done, and recently switched to the jerrybuilt smsp copy header. here's the difference:

edelbrock:

jerrybuilt:

(sorry for the quality of the dyno pic, one sheet was scanned, the other one the pic was taken with a camera phone lol)

nice, but in order to be a fair test, remove your cat from the edlebrock setup.

Do you have a plot of the two overlayed?

It would be cool to see this comparison again with a 2.5 collector mod on the edelbrock.

no idea, we can't figure it out. it was alot worse before tuning after installing the new header. he got it as smooth as possible but still can't get it perfect.

thanks for the reply.
yah i've seen an edelbrock with a 2.5 collector mod perform similar to the actual smsp header. on one of eugene's (prostreetimport) ls/vtec builds it actually made like a tiny bit more torque, but less peak hp.

How did you manage to get a poilished jerry built header? We have had 4 of those headers from years ago and all were flat black. The new profab ( which is not in business anymore) which many said was not even a "exact match" we actually lost 7 whp on across the board on all motors. Wish I had the dyno's to post them up I will gather the dyno plots if they are still around.

The Jg header is a real good header and is especially great priced for the power it adds. That mod on the jg header would be very, very good. We recenlty just swapped out the modded jg 2 peice and intake manifold with a JB header and JG IM and gained 15 whp. The motor on 11.1 comp makes 220 whp ( which your very close to that )

Congrats on the power that is no joke right there. Go show all the boys how the girls do it in NY

Could have missed a length or diameter. Most coppiers do, they just try to make it cheaper, and look the same.
