I've got the Comptech SS, a Skunk2 shift **** (stock **** sucks), and brass bushings on order. Hopefully they will be here soon so I can install them and give a full report about the whole package.
If you search these forums though, you should find some other reiviews on the bushings. They are

I dunno about three thumbs up. I know at least one person said that the bushings actually make 1st and 2nd gear "tighter". However, they thought it might work itself out after some break-in time. I dunno if they ever broke in or not...
I have the comptech SS installed on my SI without the bushings. I too noticed slight difficulties with 3rd gear before the SS. With the short shifter, these difficulties are pretty much gone and 3rd gear operates fine like all of the other ones. The comptech SS performs quite well on its own, but if you want the bushings then go for it. The skunk II **** is just a looks thing, I doubt it really helps much at all.

The stock shift **** is very light compared to the Shunk2 shift ****. I do like the look a little better, but more weight feels a smoother to me when shifting.
