He's right man. I've been looking for 06 GSX-R 750 and 1000 and i almost got a 1000cc for $8500 used, so thats just to let you know what prices are at right now since the 07 is out. The 06 GSX-R used are about $8000 in the cycle trader and craigslist.

It definitely isn't wrong to post that the MSRP for this bike is $9999:

Yikes, another financer trying to dump their bike for what they owe. Ridiculous.
The lack of forethought these days astounds me.

This would be one of those times when we need a mod in /26. If you don't like the price, don't buy it.

I concur. Also, I'm quite slow. I just figured out what /26 means

But if someone unsuspecting DID buy it, wouldn't you feel guilty?

I disagree. There is nothing wrong with people helping others make an informed decision. Saying someone can't call a seller out on an overpriced bike is just retarded. How is it really any different than calling out a scammer since they're both trying to rip you off?

i dont think its the seller's intention to rip someone off. just get back as much money as he can.

either way, he shot himself in the foot with this one.

Any time you ask/charge 35% more than MSRP, regardless of your motivation, you're trying to rip someone off.

he might sell it somewhere else but I'm sorry. trying to sell a bike for that much over msrp with 2000 miles on it just won't work on a MOTORCYCLE FORUM. I talked to a guy in Cali and he said he saw them during the summer for $9200. For $12k I sure as hell am not buying a suzuki either. I'm sorry if he got ripped off initially but sadly it happens. more then likely he's just gonna have to sell lower and live and learn...

He's the one that chose to post it for sale in a motorcycle forum where most everyone already has a motorcycle.
Don't post overpriced for sale ads in a forum where people can comment on your ad. If you didn't want comments and just wanted to troll for idiots with deep pockets you could have just put it in cycle trader or craiglist.

Even the Hahm motorsports lists the price for a new one at $9999. People aren't going to help pay your taxes, title and registration fees, especially since the bike depreciated since you rolled it off the lot for the first time. When new, if you didn't even bother to negotiate, you shouldn't have paid more than $11,000, based on basic titling and registration fees plus CA's 7.25% sales and use tax. There is no way that bike is worth more than MSRP, no matter what you still owe on it. Other people won't pay for the **** intrusion you received from the dealer.

caveat emptor

OP was dumb to pay how much he did, but if someone is dumb enough to pay his asking price, that person deserves to get taken for a ride just like the OP was.

Blah, but if a person were to spend 10g's on a bike, you sure as hell should be doing your homework. And the price of the bike would be one of those things you just have to look up.

I would not feel guilty one bit if someone bought my '03 600RR for 9g's.
